About the Role:

The Shift Supervisor in the transportation and warehousing industry plays a critical role in overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and productivity during their assigned shift. This position is responsible for managing a team of employees, coordinating workflow, and addressing any operational challenges that arise to maintain seamless logistics and distribution processes. The Shift Supervisor acts as a key liaison between management and frontline staff, ensuring company policies and procedures are followed while fostering a positive work environment. They are also tasked with monitoring performance metrics, implementing corrective actions when necessary, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory or lead role within transportation, warehousing, or logistics operations.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and warehouse management systems.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Valid authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
Experience with transportation management software and inventory control systems.
Certification in occupational safety or warehouse management (e.g., OSHA, APICS).
Demonstrated leadership training or professional development in team management.
Bilingual skills to effectively communicate with diverse workforce populations.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate daily activities of warehouse and transportation staff during assigned shifts to meet operational targets.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and assist in resolving personnel issues to promote team effectiveness.
Manage workflow by prioritizing tasks, allocating resources, and adjusting schedules to address operational demands and unexpected challenges.
Maintain accurate records of shift activities, incidents, and inventory movements, and prepare reports for management review.
Collaborate with other supervisors and departments to optimize logistics processes and support continuous improvement efforts.
Respond promptly to operational disruptions, equipment malfunctions, or emergencies to minimize downtime and maintain service levels.
