About the Job
We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Spotter/Shuttle CDL Driver to support yard operations and short-haul shuttle routes. In this role, you will move trailers within our facility, position equipment at dock doors, and transport drivers or cargo between nearby locations - keeping our operation running smoothly around the clock.
Key responsibilities:
- Spot and move trailers to and from dock doors, staging areas, and drop lots using a yard truck (hostler/spotter truck).
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections per FMCSA regulations and document findings accurately.
- Communicate trailer locations and yard status to dispatch and dock supervisors in real time.
- Ensure trailers are properly sealed, secured, and tagged before movement.
- Maintain accurate yard management system (YMS) logs and paper records as required.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and site-specific traffic procedures.

- Valid Class A CDL.
- Current DOT medical card.
- Clean MVR.
- Must pass DOT drug/alcohol screen.
Experience:
- 1+ year CDL driving experience.
- Yard / spotter truck experience preferred.
- Backing & docking proficiency required.
- Familiarity with YMS or yard boards.
- Experience with 48'/53' dry vans.
Physical requirements:
- Able to work outdoors in all weather.
- Frequent climbing in/out of equipment.
- Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
Soft skills:
- High attention to detail and safety.
- Strong communication with dock teams.
- Ability to prioritize in fast-paced yards.
- Dependable and punctual.
